Easy Skin Care Steps For Glowing Skin

For most of us, skin care routines have become bogged down with loads & loads of information, products, remedies etc… Actually all you have to do is just spend 3 minutes every morning and night for young, glowing and healthy looking skin.

All your skin needs is just a 3-step routine:

Step1

Cleanse your skin throughly to remove dirt and unclog pores.

Step2

Use toner to tighten up the pores, improving blood circulation and imparting a healthy glow.

Step3

Moisturize with SPF protection during the day to prevent sun damage and at nightime before bed to prevent dryness and to nourish your skin for smoother, softer skin.

Acne Fighting Tips

1.   Don’t pick!
2.   Wash twice a day. Lightly in the AM. Extra-thourghly in the PM. Use a mild unscented cleanser.
3.   Dot a small amount of 2.5% Benzol Peroxide on the affected area.
4.    Reduce reddness and inflamation by avoiding hot drinks, spicy food alcohol and overexposure to sun.
5.    Have a professional facial regularly to safely extract clogged oil and dirt without infection or scarring.
6.   Take a rest day. Give your skin a makeup-free day.
7.    Keep your hands off your face. If you do touch your face make sure your hands are washed before you do so.
8.    Eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise to improve circulation.
9.    Exfoliate once a week.
10.  Dry face with a clean towel and don’t rub it. Blot dry.

A little note about SPF

That sun-kissed, healthy glow that comes from spending time outdoors or in the tanning bed is wonderful.
What isn’t so wonderful is the damage that UV exposure leaves behind. Wrinkles, sun spots, uneven skin tone and dryness can all add years to your face.
Knowing how to choose makeup that disguise these problem areas help, but prevention is still the best medicine. Never leave the house without sunscreen on your face.
Facial skin is very delicate and must be protected year round from UV exposure, even on overcast days. If you choose to go without foundation, at least apply a moisturizer with SPF like this one.

Natural Facial Scrub Recipe

My favorite natural scrub for the face is very simple and easy to do. I love using natural skincare as much as I can. I believe the more we use what nature provides for us the better the environment and the better for our bodies.
The best recipe for a natural facial scrub is:

1 tsp. of  raw sugar
1 tbsp. of raw honey

  • Mix the sugar and honey together in a small glass dish with your fingers. Add a little bit of water if it is too thick
  • Wash your face with a  gentle cleanser like Jason Super C Cleanser Gentle Facial Wash
  • Then rinse thoroughly with water, leave the water on your face and apply the paste of sugar and honey to your face.
  • scrub your face very gently with the paste adding a little bit of water if needed. scrub for about a minute all over your face concentrating on the nose and areas that tend to get clogged with blackheads and dead skin.
  • Now rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  • Pat your face dry with a towel and apply moisturizer. When I am not using Olive Oil ( I usually use that at night) I use  Alba Aloe and Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer

Beauty Tips For Dry Skin

Here are my secrets to having amazing youthful skin! This will be hard to believe but I use simple Extra Virgin Olive oil on my dry skin to have beautiful looking skin. This is so simple but it really works. Here are some of my favorite mixtures with Olive oil and other natural dry skin remedies.

To prevent the skin chapping in cold weather, mix a teaspoon of Olive oil and a teaspoon of Rose water. Apply on the dryest areas and leave it overnight.

For an anti-aging mask, mix a teaspoon of Olive oil with an egg. Smooth it all over the face and neck, let it remain till it gets dry. Remove this by rinsing with warm water.
Jojoba Oil is known to help reduce wrinkles and other aging lines. In addition, it helps promote the growth of new skin cells.

For another beauty mask, mix a tablespoon of  Honey, one tablespoon of mashed up Avocado and one teaspoon of Olive oil. Mix well and apply this paste to face and neck (It will be really messy)! Let it remain till the skin for about 10 minutes and then rinse your face until the mask is fully removed. This mask will make your skin soft and smooth.

To Brighten Up A Dull Complexion

Mix a  few drops of lemon juice and a half a teaspoon each of Olive oil and milk. Leave on for half an hour and then wash off with water.

To Get Glowing Beautiful Skin

Use Olive Oil directly on your face out of the bottle!  Olive oil is an antioxidant and protects the skin from harmful and damaging free radicals. It is like magic on your complexion. It slows down the aging process such as fine lines and wrinkles. I use it every night on my face and when I wake up in the morning, my skin is absolutely amazing looking!

You can use Olive oil as a lip balm, a hair moisturizer, a nail soak, a facial cleanser and even a dandruff treatment.

For Smooth, Silky Youthful Looking Hands.

Smooth on a generous amount of Olive oil on your hands before bed, put on white cotton gloves, and go to sleep. Your hands will be softer and smoother in the morning.

Clear Acrylic Makeup Organizer

Chest - Deluxe 7 Drawer (Clear) (11 7/8"H x 12 5/8"W x 6 1/2"D)Clear Acrylic Makeup Organizer

Having a place to store all of your cosmetics and makeup can be a real life saver. With all of the makeup we have there is a need to organize it all a little bit better, have a large and neat place to store it and, to be able to see it as well. Finding a good makeup organizer that can do all of that can be difficult.

While watching an episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" I (and the rest of America) saw Kourtney standing in her bathroom with what looked like the holy grail of makeup organizers! I thought Wow! I want one of those, or at least one that is very close to it. Through my extensive search to find a good makeup organizer like the one on the show , I had very little luck and thought, "I know I can find one that's at least simular to it". Low and behold, I have found one just like it! And, it's a lot less than the makeup organizer that Kourtney has. I heard the one Kourtney has cost her around $300! Too much for me to spend so I found this clear makeup organizer (actually it's for jewelry but, it will hold makeup too.)

Homemade Beauty Recipes with Olive Oil

Use Olive oil on your skin and hair! Olive oil is an anti-aging, antioxidant-rich oil that you wont want to stop using!!

Olive oil will...

•Give your skin a radiant youthful glow
•Help maintain elasticity of skin
•Heal dry, brittle nails and soften cuticles
•Condition your hair and add shine!

Skin Care... (Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil)!

You can make simple skin care recipes right in your own kitchen. Try these beauty recipes... you wont believe what a difference they make.

Use it on your face: Create a moisturizing facial mask with olive oil, honey, and an egg yolk. Beat all of the ingredients together until well blended and apply it to your face (It will get messy)... then relax! Leave on for 15 minutes; rinse with warm water.

You can also use it straight from the bottle on your face. Do this after you wash your face in the evening before bed. Make sure you massage it in well and go to bed. When you wake up in the morning, your skin will be incredibly soft and radiant!!

For Dry Skin on your body: Gently massage a small amount of olive oil on extra dry areas such as elbows or heels.

For your hands: Here is a sugar scrub for rough, dry hands. Combine two tablespoons of oil with two tablespoons of granulated sugar. Rub on hands until sugar begins to dissolve. Rinse with warm water. And then apply lotion. You will have the silkiest baby smooth hands.

For your feet: Apply a liberal amount of oil to feet at bedtime. Cover with cotton socks. You will wake up with very soft feet in the morning!

For your nails: Warm a small dish of olive oil (not too hot) with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Soak nails for 5- 10 minutes. This softens cuticles while it strengthens nails.

For your bath: For a moisturizing soak, add about ¼ cup olive oil and several drops of essential oil to your bathwater. Lavender oil will help you relax before going to bed. (Careful - the tub will be slippery!)

For your hair: For a simple oil treatment, warm several tablespoons of olive oil (again, not hot). Rub into scalp and hair. Cover with a shower cap or small plastic bag. Leave on for 20-30 minutes.

For extra conditioning, mix an egg yolk with the olive oil... but do not warm. This is great for dry hair and split ends. It may even heal dandruff. Shampoo twice after this treatment or you'll smell like raw egg!

For your lips: A great way to get rid of chapped lips is to use straight olive oil. Dab on lips... especially helpful at bedtime.

If your lips are really dry and flaky. Try this lip scrub

Dry lips honey scrub

1 tsp of olive oil
1 tsp of honey
2 tsp of white granulated sugar
A dash of lemon juice

Mix them together and make a sugary paste. Then use your finger or a to gently rub the mixture back and forth on your lips.

Olive oil sugar scrub

Best for: all skin types
Benefits: smooths rough skin

2 tbsp light olive oil (not extra-virgin, which can get sticky) or grapeseed oil
2 tbsp granulated sugar

Rub this emollient mixture into hands and feet, focusing on any hardened, calloused areas. Rinse under warm running water and pat dry. Voila! Fabulously silky-smooth skin.

To receive the full benefit of olive oil, don't limit it to external care. People from the Mediterranean culture... eat it! Incorporate this healthy oil regularly into your diet. You’ll enhance your health while improving the appearance of your skin.

Olive oil is high in antioxidants, including vitamin E. Antioxidants are nutritional powerhouses that protect against age-accelerating free radicals.

Helpful Beauty Tips!

Here are some great tips on staying healthy and beautiful!

1. Get plenty of sleep!

Sleep is essential in staying healthy and young looking. I personally get 8 hours a day. If you can get anywhere between 7- 8 hours then you have had plenty!

2. Don't smoke.

Smoking depletes all of the color out of your face and it causes wrinkles and it smells bad. Should I go on? Quitting is not an easy task. If you need help quitting then you should try some methods that I recommend Here.

3. Eat healthy foods as much as you can.

I know there are alot of temptations out there, but eating healthy foods has so many great benefits.

  • Berries have antioxidants that help you fight off disease.

  • Vegetables have lots of fiber in them that can detoxify your body.

Experiment with healthy food. You would be surprised at how many healthy foods are very tasty if you just try them. Eat a healthy diet all week and on the weekends treat yourself to a little something special like ice cream or popcorn or pizza!!! That way you can still have your favorite junk food, but in moderation.

When you eat healthy your organs function better and you will feel better and you will be in a better mood. Your whole day can be alot less stressful if you eat healthier foods.

4. Speaking of stress... De - stress your life.

If you are a busy person and you are stressed out all of the time. You can age very quickly! Studies are finding that stress can lead to cancer. To find out how to De-stress the Natural Way .Take time off once and a while. Relax. Treat yourself and your body to a day at the spa. If you can't afford the spa then do what I do.

I call it "Day of Beauty"

I buy all of my little home spa goodies on ebay or the drug store (drugstore.com) and stock up on the following items:

  • 1 packet of a mask (single use, usually a $1)

  • 1 packet of a hair treatment (single use, usually a $1)

  • Put together a pedicure kit (Avon makes great pedicure products) and do a mini pedicure on yourself.

  • A big bottle of lotion that smells good (The Body Shop), and slather it all over!

You can add more things, but this is usually a nice combo. Take time to do these things and you will feel like you have just been to the spa. Oh! and I cannot forget the most important thing! Light that scented candle!

5. Exercise!

I know! I don't like to do it either, but we must if we want to stay looking young and gorgeous! Pick something that you enjoy doing. I like to be outside with nature, so I go for walks on a regular basis. I walk at lunch at the office. You would be surprised how good it is for you.

It has so many health benefits I could write a book about it. Anyway, if walking isn't your thing then find something you like, bike riding or hiking, swimming, tennis or dancing etc. I found out that if you do something you like to do rather than doing exercise as a chore then it is much more enjoyable.

6. Drink lots of water!

Don't pass this one up because it has so many benefits. Not only does it make your skin look radiant but, it detoxifies your body! And, can aid in weight loss!!
